I've been around machines most of my life.  By age five I learned not to watch the welding arc and not to splash gasoline in my eyes.  In my professional life I've been a tool and diemaker and a tool engineer.

The toolroom I worked in had a variety of specialized fixtures in addition to the dies, molds, fixtures and unique machines used in manufacturing.  In trade school and in my time on the bench I made a number of my own tools, items like V-blocks and angle plates.  Most of the other toolmakers also had shop made tools.  They were both an opportunity to incorporate individual features and a source of pride.

Here I present a variety of special tools and machine enhancements aimed primarily at small to medium machines and hobbyists.  Most are available in kit or finished form.  Some require minimum machine work and some are more challenging.  They are opportunities for skill development, expression of individuality and hopefully a source of pride and enjoyment when complete.
